In this chaotic world, what I want is peace.
I am, at peace with myself;
But there is a gaping hole in my life,
leading to in the stifling.
The rough air, the poking sun,
the stone heart, the unusual frustration.
I carry calm in my mind;
but my soul stirs.
I do not crave perfection;
only presence.
To my incomplete life, you will be the missing piece that makes everything whole.
And when I find you,
my soul will remember what it’s been missing;
the whole world will become blur to me;
like the sun rising without asking permission;
like my heart saying,
“There you are”
It won’t be fireworks or fanfare,
Just a quiet knowing —
like breath fits into my lungs.
I will no longer search for love;
I will no longer search for peace;
I will no longer want anybody, but you.
Not for what you give,
but for what your presence awakens in me.
You are not the end of my journey,
but the soft place I can finally rest.
The waiting will have been worth it
this stillness inside me
Will finally have a name!
